5 Stars - What a great company to work with!! We ordered elevator door frames for a four house project in Ithaca and the contractor had questions about the bore of the doors that I could not answer. I made a conference call to Joe Hickey with our contractor on the phone and he was able to answer the questions with great knowledge. The next day, the person making the doors called me with another question about the bore of the doors and once again I reached out to Joe to ask him if he would call the gentleman to answer his questions. Within 5 minutes of my email, Joe made the call and everything was resolved. Now that`s great customer service! We will definitely work with Belco Doors the next time we need doors or frames!! 1 Stars - I`ve never visited here. I am only rating them on their customer service. I do not know who I spoke to on the phone but I was pretty insulted by whoever it was. I called to inquire about a product, mainly to learn about how they work so I could see if it would be viable for a job I am working on. I didn`t see that this company was based out of Canada but was quickly informed of its location as soon as the customer service rep and I started speaking. I`m sure my southern accent gave it away that the job wasn`t going to be in Canada. Even so, I still wanted to inquire about the product for my own knowledge. I get that this person had no business continuing to speak with me since we would not be working together. Also I`ll admit, it was a cold call and I know people are busy, that one is on me. But, the level of rudeness I was met with is inexcusable from any customer service standpoint. I was cut off from my sentence, the rep took a very snarky tone with me, and then hung up on me. 5 Stars - I work in the lift industry, and I admit I don`t know everything. There are code issues we have to be careful with. A local ADA guy here in Houston was giving me trouble, so I called up Niagara Belco, and was given to Joe Hickey. He shared his expertise and gave me the knowledge I needed to fight the fight. 1 Stars - Very rude service technician, this company was at the building I live in today servicing one of the two elevators we have. A woman with a cain and using an oxygen machine was treated with such disrespect for using the elavtor that had some parts in it. If you don’t want people using that elevator put it in service mode. This guy told her she was taking to long to get out of the elevator and that she should have waited for the other one, our building is old and you can’t tell were the elevator is unless your on the first floor. I still can’t believe that he would talk to someone who can barely walk and in oxygen like that. If you have a building with older people and don’t want them disrespected consider another company. 1 Stars - Elevators in our building are only 5 years old and broken all the time. Last time when they were here to repair, they left the doors open to the shaft with no safe barrier in place. If ministry of labour had seen that it would have been a MEGA$$$ fine. (Ed Barnard - a year ago)
